Boys Golf Heads To ECC Tournament Seeking Fourth Straight League Title

SETTING THE SCENE: Searching for a fourth consecutive Eastern Cincinnati Conference Championship, the Milford High School boys golf squad will tee it up at the 2017 conference tournament on Thursday at Sharon Woods Golf Course, beginning at 7:30 a.m. The ECC Championship is determined by a combination of finish in the league’s preseason tournament, postseason tournament and regular season. The Eagles finished fifth in the preseason shootout and tied for the fourth highest record during conference match play this fall.

 

THE UPCOMING DOCKET: A look at Milford’s schedule for the upcoming week:

  • Thursday, Sept. 28 at ECC Championship Tournament, Sharon Woods GC, 7:30 a.m.

 

A LOOK BACK: Sept. 21 at McNicholas: The Eagles fell by just a single stroke in its regular season finale, coming up just short by a 169-170 mark in a match-up contested at Stillmeadow Golf Course.

POLL WATCH: The Eagles finished as the first team among others receiving votes in the final Cincinnati Enquirer Division I area coaches’ poll of the season, released on Sept. 25. St. Xavier, with 11 of 13 first place votes, was crowned the poll champion, with second place Lakota East taking the other two top nods. Elder, Mason and Loveland from the ECC round out the top-five. Other ECC squads mentioned include Anderson and Turpin in a tie for eighth, with West Clermont joining Milford in the others receiving votes section.
