Boys Soccer Hosts Turpin for Home Opener Thursday

SETTING THE SCENE: The Milford boys soccer team is back in action on Thursday, Sept. 1 for a 7 p.m. match against No. 7 ranked Turpin at the Charity J. Lucas Soccer Stadium. It will be the Eagles’ home opener, after poor field conditions forced Milford to relocate its original opener slated for August 19.

THE UPCOMING DOCKET: A look at Milford’s schedule this week:

  • Thursday, Sept. 1 vs. Turpin (at Milford High School), 7:00 p.m.
    • 2015 Record: 15-3-1, 6-0-1 ECC
    • Last Meeting: 2015; Milford 0, Turpin 2
    • Series History: Turpin leads, 25-15-4

A LOOK BACK: The Eagles dropped a pair of matches, losing to Lakota East, 0-5, and Hamilton, 2-3, to start the season.

POLL WATCH: Milford did not receive any votes in the Division I Coaches’ Poll. Mason tops the rankings for the second week in a row with 11 first-place votes. St. Xavier, Moeller, Lakota East, and Anderson round out the top five. The coaches’ poll is released every Monday at Noon at preps.cincinnati.com/coachespolls.
