Boys Soccer Looks To Continue Hot Start With Pair Of Match-ups

SETTING THE SCENE: Off to a 4-0-1 start, the Milford High School boys soccer team will be out to build on its unbeaten beginning to the season when it takes to the pitch twice in a three-day span upcoming. Fresh off a solid 1-1 tie against a solid Turpin team, the Eagles will look for another positive Eastern Cincinnati Conference result when it takes to the Charity J. Lucas Stadium field for a battle with Walnut Hills. Then, on Saturday, Milford will square off with one of the area’s best Division III programs with a road contest at Madeira.

A LOOK BACK: Aug. 31 at Turpin: Sophomore Noah Burnett scored his fifth goal of the young season, tying for the top spot in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference as the Eagles played to a 1-1 tie with Turpin. Joey Round picked up his second assist of the campaign on the Burnett score.

POLL WATCH: For the second straight week, the Eagles reside in the No. 8 spot in the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Division I area coaches’ poll, released on Sept. 5. The top of the rankings has an interesting twist as ECC member Anderson holds a one point lead over Moeller despite being outnumbered in first place votes, 13-4. St. Xavier is third with two first place votes, followed by Lakota West (one No. 1 vote) and Sycamore. The ECC is also represented by Turpin in 10th, along with Kings, Walnut Hills, Loveland, West Clermont and Withrow, all receiving votes.
