Eagles Announce 2017 Football Schedule

Posted on: May 21, 2017

The 2017 football season, the first for Milford under new head coach Tom Grippa, will feature an exciting schedule that is highlighted by an appearance in the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown, along with six home games in the friendly confines of Eagles Stadium. The big one though, comes in Week 1 when the Eagles take to the turf inside historic Nippert Stadium for a clash with Oak Hills.

For the second straight season, Milford was been tabbed to participate in the Showdown, but this time they will play on the big stage at Nippert on Saturday, Aug. 26. The contest, which is part of the 20th anniversary of the Showdown, will kick off on Nippert’s turf at 2 p.m.

The Eagles’ home schedule kicks off on Sept. 1 for the first of three straight home games. That contest will pit Milford against Dixie Heights for the third consecutive season in Week 2. The non-conference portion of the slate wraps up on Sept. 8 when Kettering Fairmont from the Dayton area comes calling. As with all of the Eagles’ Friday night games, kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Milford won’t have to wait long to see how they stack up in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference as their league opener on Sept. 15 features a visit from the defending league champions, the Turpin Spartans. Week 5 sees the Eagles play their first true road game of the year as they make the short jaunt to inter-township rival Loveland on Sept. 22. The only back-to-back road games of the season conclude on Sept. 29 when the Eagles visit Walnut Hills.

Two consecutive home games will greet the Eagles when the calendar flips to October, with the first coming with a visit from Kings on Oct. 6. Homecoming is scheduled for the following Friday night (Oct. 13) and this year’s opponent will be Withrow.

The final road game of the year is set for Oct. 20 when the Eagles visit Anderson. Senior Night and the regular season capper are scheduled for Oct. 27 with Milford’s first-ever match-up with the new West Clermont High School.
