Posted on: March 19, 2017

The 2017 All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference announced the selections for girls bowling all-conference teams and six girls bowling team members received honors for the third year in a row.  Senior Alyna Hook is joined by junior Jessica Haines and freshman Jessica Norman as first team all-conference selections, while senior Lauren Shelton is joined by junior MacKenzie Mason on the second team.  Megan Cannon received honorable mention.

Hook closed her high school career named to the first team All-ECC, an honor she received in both 2016 and 2015.  She ended the year in the top ten of the ECC conference leaders, including the fifth highest average (174.9).  In addition, her 395 two game series was seventh in the conference, while a 213 game in January leaves her tied for tenth in the conference.

Haines ended the year near the top of the ECC for the Eagles, and finished with the best high series (490) in the ECC.  The junior set a new Milford bowling record in February, when she broke the girls two-game series record by a total of 61 pins, for a record high 490. She ranked second in the conference for average (187.1) and third for high game with a 256.  This is the second year that Haines has received first team all-conference recognition.

Norman, in her second season, was selected as a first team All-ECC member after receiving honorable mention in her freshman season.  She finished in or near the top ten for all ECC stats, including fourth best high game (237) and fifth best high series (414).  Her 155.6 average was near the top ten, placing her eleventh in the conference.

A junior who received second team honors last year as well, Mason set a new personal best high game, 204 against Kings.  The junior ended her season ranked eighth in high average (160.5) and thirteenth for high series (375) in the ECC.

Shelton was named to the second team, having received the honor in 2016 as well.  Shelton ended her MHS career ranked ninth for high game (214).  She finished fourteenth in the conference for both high average (153.1) and high series (374).

In sixteen varsity games, honorable mention recipient Megan Cannon averaged a 145.5 with a season high game of 169 at the Eastern Cincinnati/Southwest Ohio Conference tournament.
