Girls Golf Takes On Kings, Pair Of GGCL Foes This Week

 

SETTING THE SCENE: The Milford High School girls golf team, off to a 2-0 start in league play are back on the link this week, first looking to stay perfect in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference, then turning its attention to a duo of Girls Greater Catholic League opponents. Sitting 3-2 in season dual action, the Eagles begin the coming week on Monday, traveling to Kings, before hosting McAuley, one of the area’s best squads and Mount Notre Dame.

A LOOK BACK: Aug. 21 at Walnut Hills: Milford improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in league play with a convincing 191-234 win over Walnut Hills. Playing on the course at the Cincinnati Country Club, senior Casey Broxterman took match medalist honors with a round of 45.

 

Aug. 22 at Lakota East: The Eagles were handed their first dual defeat of the season, falling to Lakota East by a 162-207 score at Four Bridges Golf Course. Senior Casey Broxterman and junior Megan LaFrance shared low scoring honors for the Eagles with rounds of 49.

 

Aug. 23 at Loveland: Facing one of the area’s and league’s top squads, the Eagles dropped a close 184-196 decision to Loveland. Sophomore Megan Loux was the Milford’s low scorer, totaling a score of 49 at Eagles Nest.

POLL WATCH: Milford again earned a single vote in the Aug. 28 edition of the Cincinnati Enquirer’s area Division I coaches’ poll. Ursuline Academy continues to hold the top spot, this week earning eight of the nine first place votes. The balance of the top-five includes Sycamore, Mason (one first place vote), Lakota East and St. Ursula. The ECC is also represented by Loveland in seventh, along with Turpin and Kings both earning votes. The coaches’ poll is released every Monday at Noon at preps.cincinnati.com/coachespolls.
