Girls Water Polo Looks to Extend Streak; Hosts Milford Invitational

SETTING THE SCENE: The Milford girls water polo team looks to extend is four-game winning streak when it hosts the Milford Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 3. The boys will take the holiday weekend off before joining the girls squad at Mason on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

A LOOK BACK: The girls’ team dominated at the Cincinnati Invitational held at Princeton High School – winning all of their games against Princeton, 11-5; Mason, 12-9; Cincinnati Mavericks, 12-1; and Sycamore, 5-2. They improved their record to 5-3.

The Milford boys are 3-4 after losing a pair of games against Upper Arlington, 16-6, and Thomas Worthington, 7-4, before redeeming themselves against Worthington Kilborne, 11-10, at the Sycamore Invitational on Aug. 27.

 POLL WATCH: On Aug. 29, the Ohio water polo coaches released their latest poll. Coming off a 3-0 weekend, the girls jumped the rankings and are now tied for second with the Mavericks. The boys team is tied for sixth with Mason. The full rankings can be found here.
