Historic Season Ends For Girls Bowling

An outstanding season ended for the MHS girls bowling team, who advanced to the OSHAA Division I District Bowling competition but were unable to qualify for the State Tournament. 

The Lady Eagles competed at Districts on Thurs., March 2 at Beaver-Vu Lanes near Dayton.  Jessica Haines led the Eagles, placing 28th in the final standings.  Bowling in all three games, Haines averaged a 175.3 and a high series of 526, followed junior MacKenzie Mason’s three game series of 439.  Hook placed 78th of the nearly 100 students who bowled all three games.

Senior Alyna Hook averaged a 193 and finished with a 386 series in her final two high school games, while Jessica Norman completed a two game series of 283.  Lauren Shelton’s senior season ended close behind with a 281 series. 

Jenna Stone of Troy was the Division I champion for the second consecutive year, with a 694 series.  Glen Este’s Courtney Chaffin was the top ECC individual, placing fifth.

Milford’s fellow Eastern Cincinnati Conference member and rival Glen Este just managed to advance as a team with a sixth place finish. 

The Eagles ended the tournament in 12th place of the 24 teams who participated, an improvement from last season’s 20th place finish.  The top six teams advancing to the State Tournament include Kettering Fairmont, Beavercreek, Centerville, Troy, Bellefontaine, and Glen Este.
