Nine Milford Student-Athletes Named Cincinnati Enquirer Winter All-Stars

Posted on: May 19, 2016

A total of nine Milford High School student-athletes have been recognized for their outstanding performance during the winter sports season with inclusion on the 2015-16 Cincinnati Enquirer Winter All-Star teams. Of the nine Eagles, four earned second team honors. The recognized student-athletes were also included among the best in the coverage area of the Milford-Miami Advertiser

Freshman Tyler Babinec was recognized for his performance as a member of Milford’s swim team this winter. In his first year of high school competition, Babinec was a star, placing 13th in the state in the 100 breaststroke and scoring Milford’s first-ever individual district championship with a win in the 50 freestyle. He was also the Eastern Cincinnati Conference Champion in both the 50 free and 100 breaststroke.

From the boys bowling team, junior Noah Dolezal was honored after helping the Eagles advance to the Division I District Championship and a runner-up finish at sectionals. Dolezal set a school record for a three-game series with a combined score of 711 and was an All-ECC first team performer.

The MHS girls bowling team was also represented on the Enquirer second team by sophomore Jessica Haines. A first team All-ECC choice, Haines earned a top-25 finish at the Southwest District Championship with a 583 series and a high game of 201. The second team selections for Dolezal and Haines are a first for both of the Milford programs, while the three total selections (including an honorable mention) are also a program-high.

Boys basketball standout Brad Hall was Milford’s fourth and final All-City second team choice. A first team All-ECC selection, Hall was a warrior for the 14-9 Eagles, coming back from a significant baseball injury to pace the squad in scoring (12.6) and rebounding (6.5) per game, as well as three-point field goal percentage (.435). He set season-highs in points with 22 and rebounds with 14.

Milford’s honorable mention selections for 2015-16 include: Joel Adams (diving), Kobey Bronaugh (wrestling), Kiki Carle (gymnastics), Taylor Foster (girls basketball) and Alyna Hook (girls bowling).
