Soccer, Volleyball Teams Learn Postseason Tournament Fates

Coaches from the Southwest District for the sports of boys soccer, girls soccer and volleyball met on Sunday (Oct. 9) to determine seeding and match-ups for the upcoming OHSAA Tournaments in their respective sports. The Milford High School girls soccer squad faired the best of the trio, earning the No. 10 seed in the Cincinnati Sectionals.

 

The girls soccer team, who enters its regular season finale on Tuesday at Loveland, currently hold a record of 6-6-2 and are second in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference at 3-0-2. While the Eagles know they will be seeded 10th, their first opponent is to be determined as Milford has earned a first round bye. MHS will open at home on Saturday, Oct. 22 against the winner of No. 12 Little Miami and No. 15 Sycamore. Kickoff will take place at 7 p.m. Click here to see the Eagles’ tournament draw.

 

The boys soccer team grabbed the No. 14 seed in the Cincinnati Sectional and will travel to ninth-seeded Moeller in its opener. The match is scheduled for a 5 p.m. kickoff on Monday, Oct. 17. The Eagles sit 8-6-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the ECC heading into their regular season finale at home against Loveland this week. Click here to see the boys soccer tournament draw for Milford.

 

The volleyball Eagles will open tournament play against a familiar foe as they will battle ECC rival Kings on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Lakota East High School. Milford is seeded No. 23 for the tournament and will be facing the Knights for the second time in seven days when the first serve goes in the air.
