Trio Of Duals On Tap For Girls Golf This Week

SETTING THE SCENE: With victories in its first two dual matches of the season last week, the Milford High School girls golf team will try to build on its winning streak with three matches in three days to start this week. Behind the play of senior Casey Broxterman, the Eagles knocked off both Turpin and Oak Hills last week to start 2-0. This week features match-ups with Eastern Cincinnati Conference foes Walnut Hills and Loveland, sandwiched around a non-conference tilt with Lakota East.

 

THE UPCOMING DOCKET: A look at Milford’s schedule for the upcoming week:

  • Monday, Aug. 21 at Walnut Hills, Cincinnati CC, 4:00 p.m.
    • 2017 Dual Record: 1-1, 1-0 ECC
    • Top Player: Noelle Scheper (57.7 average)
  • Tuesday, Aug. 22 at Lakota East, Four Bridges CC, 3:30 p.m.
    • 2017 Dual Record: N/A
    • Top Player: Camryn Eddy (41.6 average)
  • Wednesday, Aug. 23 at Loveland, Eagles Nest GC, 4:00 p.m.
    • 2017 Dual Record: 3-0, 1-0 ECC

A LOOK BACK: Aug. 15 vs. Turpin: The Eagles got the ECC portion of the schedule off on the right foot with a 181-189 victory over Turpin at Deer Track Golf Course. Milford’s lone senior, Casey Broxterman was Milford’s low scorer of the day, carding a 44.

 

Aug. 16 at Oak Hills: Milford improved to 2-0 in dual action with a convincing 192-216 win over Oak Hills. The match-up was played on the grounds of Neuman Golf Course. For the second consecutive day, Casey Broxterman finished with a score of 44 to lead the Eagles.

 

Aug. 17 vs. Mount Notre Dame: Rain was the winner of the day as the Milford-Mount Notre Dame was postponed. The match-up has been rescheduled for Thursday, Aug. 31 at Deer Track.

 

POLL WATCH: Milford did not receive any votes in this week’s Cincinnati Enquirer Division I area coaches’ poll. Ursuline is the big favorite, earning eight of the 10 first place votes to take the top spot. Mason took second with one first place vote, followed by Sycamore, St. Ursula and McAuley rounding out the top-five. Loveland of the ECC earned the final No. 1 nod and is sixth, with Kings and Turpin in the others receiving votes section.
