SETTING THE SCENE: The Milford High School girls golf team will look to claim the 2016 Eastern Cincinnati Conference Tournament title this Thursday (Sept. 22) in the highlight of the Eagles upcoming weekly schedule. Holding a 4-0 mark in dual action against league foes this year, the Eagles will to reclaim the top spot after being knocked off for the first time in league history by Loveland last year. Milford will play one last tune-up traveling to Kings on Tuesday.

A LOOK BACK: Sept. 15 at Taylor: The Eagles enjoyed a 205-231 non-conference victory over Taylor on Sept. 15 at Shawnee Lookout Golf Course. Sophomore Megan LaFrance took medalist honors for the day with a round of 50.
INSIDE THE ECC: A tight battle continues at the top of the Eastern Cincinnati Conference standings with Loveland and Milford each tied at 4-0. The two teams are scheduled to meet head-to-head on Sept. 27 at Hickory Woods. The ECC Championship is determined by a combination of team’s finish in the ECC Preseason and Postseason Tournaments as well as victories in head-to-head dual meets against conference opponents. The 2016 ECC Tournament is scheduled for Sept. 22 at Walden Ponds Golf Course.
Individually, the Eagles have two players ranked inside the top-10 of the ECC scoring leaders with junior Casey Broxterman sixth with a 47.9 average and sophomore Bre Severns 10th with a 49.1 average.
POLL WATCH: The Eagles did not receive any votes this week in the Sept. 19 edition of the Cincinnati Enquirer Division I coaches’ poll. The battle at the top remains tight with Sycamore holding a slim lead over Ursuline on the strength of a seven to five edge in first place votes. Mason is third this week and is chased in the top-five by McAuley and Lakota West. The ECC is represented in the rankings by Loveland in ninth and Turpin in receiving votes.
