All-ECC Team for Track and Field includes Armstrong, Reynolds

All-Conference ECC:   Two MHS track and field athletes were named honorable mention for the Eastern Cincinnati Conference’s all-conference .

Andrea Armstrong received all-conference honorable mention for the second consecutive season.  At the ECC 2017 Championship Meet, she took the podium in the 400 meter dash, placing third.  She also placed fourth in the 100 and 200 meter dashes, as well as sixth in the long jump.   At this year’s District meet, the sophomore qualified in both the 100 meter and 200 meter dash. She was also a member of the 4x100 relay team (Armstrong, Chitwood, Knarr, Netzel) that returned to the Regional Meet for the second consecutive year.  By placing fourth in the 200 meter dash at the OHSAA Division I Regional Meet, Andrea Armstrong’s season will continue in Columbus next weekend.  Armstrong’s time of 25.71 placed her in the top four, earning her a trip to the 2017 OHSAA Division I State Track and Field Meet.  Armstrong finished the 100 meter dash preliminary in eleventh place with a 12.98. the 4x100 meter relay team finished tenth in the finals with a time of 50.45.

Dustin Reynolds received all-conference honorable mention for 2017.  The senior narrowly missed qualifying for the OHSAA Regional meet, finishing fifth in the 400 meter dash in the District finals.  At the 2017 Eastern Cincinnati Conference meet, Reynolds took the podium with third place finishes in both the 400 meter dash and high jump, and placed fifth in the 200 meter dash.
