Posted on: April 17, 2017

Milford High School senior Andrew Johnson has been selected to participate in the prestigious Ohio High School Football Coaches Association North South Football Classic on April 29. Johnson will be a member of the South Team roster in the Division I-III game at 4 p.m. inside Paul Brown Tiger Stadium in Massillon, Ohio.

Johnson, Milford’s starter at left offensive tackle, will be paired with some of the best seniors in the southern portion of Ohio in the game, including 10 from the Greater Cincinnati area. The Eastern Cincinnati Conference is well represented as Anderson’s Harrison Hill and Dylan Browning will join Johnson on the roster.

The North South Classic has featured some of Ohio’s best prep stars over the years, including Milford grad and current NFL offensive lineman Zach Strief who competed in the game in 2001.

Johnson was the Eagles’ most decorated award winner, earning a bevy of honors for his play along the offensive line. A first team All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference selection, Johnson also earned second team all-city and second team all-district selections from the Ohio Football Coaches’ Association and Associated Press, respectively. From his left tackle position, Johnson anchored the offensive line for an Eagles’ team that ranked second in ECC with 235.3 rushing yards per game. He has committed to play next season the University of Sioux Falls in South Dakota.

The game Johnson will take part in is the second of a doubleheader at Tiger Stadium. The game for all-stars from Division IV-VII will kick off at Noon. Tickets are available at the gate for $10 and are good for both contests.
