Posted on: September 21, 2018

SETTING THE SCENE: It promises to be another busy weekend for the Milford High School water polo teams as the squads once again head in different directions for weekend tournaments. The boys team will kick off the weekend first, taking part in the Packer Classic at Princeton on Friday and Saturday. The girls hit the water first on Saturday and then again on Sunday, travelling to Sycamore for the Dave McLennon Tournament.

THE BOYS REPORT: The Milford boys squad played in the most unique event on its schedule, the Sunlite Shootout, played at Coney Island and hosted by St. Xavier. It proved to be a tough weekend for the Eagles as they finished 1-4 at the event. After starting off with tough losses to Huron (13-7) and Upper Arlington (20-3), the Eagles dropped a narrow 8-5 decision to Napoleon. After bouncing back to knock off Oakwood, 12-8, another nail biter came in the finale with an 8-7 setback to Mason. The Eagles travel to Princeton with a season record of 4-13-1.

THE GIRLS REPORT: The girls team was in Columbus last weekend to take part in the annual Ohio Cup. The competition proved tough for Milford as they posted a 1-4 weekend record. After starting off with a 12-6 loss to Napoleon, the Eagles knocked off Mason for the third time this season, winning 9-8. In the final three Ohio Cup matches, Milford fell to Worthington (9-6), Kilbourne (11-9) and Chicago Park District (8-4). Heading to Sycamore, the Eagles are owners of an 8-14 record in 2018.
