Baseball Advances In OHSAA Tourney With Win Over Western Brown

GAME REWIND
Milford got a simply outstanding pitching performance from senior Jonathan Baker as the Eagles advanced in the OHSAA Tournament with a 6-1 victory over Western Brown. Baker allowed just a single unearned run in seven innings, while striking out eight in the complete game win.

The Eagles were led at the plate by Jake Mills who collected a pair of hits and RBI, while scoring three of the Eagles’ six runs. Bryce Perkins also drove in two in the victory.

The scoring got underway for the host Eagles in the second, with RBI singles by Perkins and Louden Hilliard plating runs. The Milford lead would balloon to 5-0 in the third, first on a two-run single by Mills. He would later score on a sacrifice fly by Perkins.

Milford’s final marker came in the fifth when Baker helped himself with an RBI single.

The Eagles advance to the second round of the OHSAA Tournament on Thursday when they will travel to Moeller, the tournament’s No. 6 seed.
