April 26 at Milford: Milford 8, Little Miami 2
GAME REWIND
Two big scoring innings and an outstanding pitching performance from Chase Herrell keyed Milford to a big ECC win, an 8-2 decision over Little Miami that keeps the Eagles alive in the battle for the conference championship. The win puts Milford a game over .500 in the league at 6-5, just 1.5 games out of first place in a tight, tight league race.
The Eagles put up four runs in the first and three more in the third, giving Herrell more than enough support. The sophomore allowed just a pair of unearned runs on five hits in six innings of work, walking two and striking out seven to earn the win.
Tyler Hewlett got Milford on the board first with an RBI single and later scored when Herrell helped himself with an RBI knock that also saw Mason Frank score on a Panther error. Another LM error made it 4-0 after one.
Jonathan Baker produced the big hit of the third with a two-run single, with a Louden Hilliard RBI accounting for the other run. Milford took advantage of yet another Panther error in the fifth for its final run.
