May 5 at Milford: Milford 9, Lebanon 8
GAME REWIND
Tyler Hewlett’s walk-off two-run base hit capped a wild seventh inning comeback for Milford as the Eagles stunned Lebanon 9-8 in an ECC thriller. The Eagles were down to their final out with a runner at second, but stayed alive on a pinch-hit RBI double by Bryce Perkins. Following a walk and a single, Hewlett strode to the plate and lined a pitch to left center to cap the Milford comeback.
After falling behind by an early run, Milford put a five-spot on the board in the second, starting its scoring on an RBI single by Jared Frederick. Jonathan Baker’s RBI single put the Eagles in front, while a Jake Mills RBI double, a wild pitch and a Hewlett RBI putting Milford up 5-1.
The Warriors would answer right back in the third with four runs to tie the game and pulled ahead 8-5 with a three-run sixth. Milford got one of the runs back in the last of the sixth on a Mason Frank RBI single, setting the stage for the frantic seventh inning.
