May 7 at Milford: Anderson 10, Milford 3

GAME REWIND
Anderson scored five runs in the fifth inning to break open a close game and hand Milford a 10-3 defeat. After AHS got four in the third, the Eagles got a run back in their half of the fourth before Anderson blew the game open The Eagles added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

Brenton Hutzel led Milford with a pair of RBI on the day, including a run-scoring double in the fourth inning.

GAME REWIND
Milford battled back from a 7-2 deficit with a five-run sixth inning outburst to ultimately force extra innings against Western Brown. The game was halted after nine innings by darkness and resumed a month later. After two more scoreless innings, Harper Hendrickson, who started the game on the mound, then returned to finish on the hill, scored the winning run on a Broncos’ passed ball.

After falling behind 3-0 heading to the bottom of the second, the Eagles got a pair back in the frame, first when Jonathan Baker hit an RBI double before later scoring on a Bronco error. Milford’s one-run deficit didn’t last as WB scored four times in the top of the third to open a five-run cushion.

Heading to the bottom of the six, the Eagles still trailed 7-2 before Simon Bargo tallied an RBI single. Baker came up huge a few batters later, blasting a bases loaded triple to draw the home team back within 7-6. One batter later, Baker raced home on a Jake Mills sacrifice fly to tie the score.

GAME REWIND
Milford overcame an early two-run deficit with 12 runs over a four-inning span, running away from Western Brown for a run-ruled 12-2 win over the Broncos. In the decisive fourth inning, the Eagles played small ball, executing two squeeze bunts and getting a two-run single from Bryce Perkins to go in front to stay.

The Eagles continued to pound away in the fifth plating five more, starting off with a Jonathan Baker RBI double. Joel Sagraves had a sac fly in the inning, while pinch-hitters Jaxon Stickle (two) and Mason Frank collected RBI in the frame.

Milford also got a big lift on the mound from winning pitcher Caleb Lambdin who faced the minimum nine hitters over three shutout innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three.
