GAME REWIND

After trailing at halftime, the Eagles turned up the intensity on both ends of the floor in the second half, pulling away from Anderson for a 61-46 victory. After shooting 86% in the second quarter, Anderson went cold in the second half, connecting on just 5 of 24 (21%) field goals. Meanwhile, the Eagles scored 31 points after the break, turning a two-point deficit into a 15-point runaway. Milford’s lead reached its highest point, 19 with 3:30 to play in the contest.

Sluder, meanwhile, matched his personal-best with his game-high 16 points.

GAME REWIND

Milford dominated the second and fourth quarters, outscoring Edgewood 41-14 in those periods to cruise to a 68-39 non-conference victory. Four three-pointers by the Eagles and three by the Cougars in the first quarter produced a 13-all tie after eight minutes of play. But in the second quarter, Milford shot 70 percent and forced seven turnovers on defense to open a comfortable 13-point halftime edge.

INSIDE THE ECC: Turpin has started a perfect 4-0 in conference play and heads into the holiday break with a one game lead over Loveland atop the ECC standings. A four-team tie featuring Milford, Kings, Walnut Hills and West Clermont are all 2-2 and tied for third. Conference play now takes a break until January 4.

 

POLL WATCH: Milford is now among several teams that are receiving votes in the current Cincinnati Enquirer Division I area coaches’ poll. Moeller continues to reign supreme with nine of the 10 first place votes cast. Mason is second, with Lakota East, owner of the other No. 1 vote, third and Princeton and Oak Hills completing the top-five. The ECC is represented by Turpin in seventh, Loveland in eighth, Walnut Hills in 10th and West Clermont and Withrow joining Milford among teams also receiving votes.
