January 8 vs. Turpin
Defense was the name of the game as Turpin won a hard fought ECC battle over Milford by a final score of 47-45. The Eagles scrapped throughout the night, coming within a basket on several occasions, but the Spartans were able to hold on for the win.

Milford found themselves downs nine midway through the third quarter, but were able to fight to within a point early in first few seconds of the fourth on a Jack Ackermann put back. The Spartans drew back out to a seven-point edge in the final minute before things got a bit crazy after a Turpin turnover and a couple of Eagle offensive rebounds. But Milford could get no closer than two on Ibrahima Niang’s dunk as the clock wound to zero.

Niang led the Eagles with his third double-double of the year, finishing with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Austin Bodley tacked on a career-high 10. Turpin’s Dominic Cantrella was up to the task of slowing Alex Hannah, one of ECC’s leading scorers, as he spearheaded an effort that held the Eagle senior to just five points, all in a 30 second span late in the first quarter.
