Boys Basketball Report: February 12
February 12 at Turpin
Milford hung around in the first half with one of the ECC’s best, but Turpin took control after the break, pulling away for a 47-33 win over the Eagles. For the second straight game, Erich Morgan posted a new career-high as he led all players with 13 points.
The Eagles started the night slow as Turpin came out shooting 60% in the first quarter to hold a 15-8 lead after eight minutes. Three-pointers by Ethan Owens and Morgan keyed an 8-0 run that pushed Milford in front for the first and only time at 16-15. Turpin clamped down on defense for the remainder of the frame, allowing just two Milford points in the last six minutes of the quarter.
The second half belonged to the Spartans as they opened up their first double figure lead late in the third quarter. In the fourth, Milford couldn’t trim its deficit to any closer than eight points as Turpin finished off its 12th win of the year.
