Boys Golf Welcomes Trio Of Opponents To Deer Track This Week

SETTING THE SCENE: It promises to be a busy week for the Milford High School boys golf team as the Eagles host three dual matches over a three-day period at Deer Track Golf Course. Coming off of a split in two matches last week, the Eagles will start this week’s slate with a non-conference tilt against Fenwick, before jumping back into Eastern Cincinnati Conference play. Wednesday features a battle with local rival Loveland, one day before a make-up dual against Kings.

 

THE UPCOMING DOCKET: A look at Milford’s schedule for the upcoming week:

  • Tuesday, Aug. 28 vs. Fenwick, Deer Track Golf Course, 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 29 vs. Loveland, Deer Track Golf Course, 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, Aug. 30 vs. Kings, Deer Track Golf Course, 4:00 p.m.

 

A LOOK BACK: Aug. 21 at Mason: A match-up of two of the top-five teams in the area saw Mason come away with a 151-161 win over Milford at the Mason Grizzly Course. Senior Justin Horn fired a two-under par 33 to lead the Eagles. Younger brother Adam had the second-best score of the day for MHS with a 38.

 

Aug. 23 vs. West Clermont: The Eagles picked up a convincing Eastern Cincinnati Conference win at Deer Track, besting West Clermont by a 162-200 score. Freshman Adam Horn took medalist honors for the afternoon with a score of 38.

POLL WATCH: The Eagles held strong in this week’s Cincinnati Enquirer Division I area coaches’ poll, once again in fifth place this week. Lakota East is the big favorite of the 11 voting coaches, earning 10 first place votes. Second place Mason earned the final top nod, with Elder and St. Xavier completing the top-five ahead of the Eagles. The ECC is also represented by Loveland in seventh, Anderson in eighth and Turpin and Kings each receiving votes.
