Boys Lacrosse Opens OHSAA Tournament Tuesday With Rematch Against Sycamore

SETTING THE SCENE: The Milford High School boys lacrosse team, owners of an 11-5 record this season, are set to open the 2018 OHSAA Tournament on Tuesday night as the Eagles welcome Sycamore. The contest is a rematch of a regular season match-up between the schools that saw the Eagles come away with a 15-9 victory. Game time is set for 7 p.m. Click here for the tournament brackets.

A LOOK BACK: May 9 vs. Lakota East: In a match-up of top-10 teams in the area, Milford fell in its regular season finale to Lakota East by a 9-6 score. The Eagles’ leading scorer, junior Cameron Kells had a big game in defeat, finishing with two goals and two assists. Senior Michael Waltz added a pair of goals and an assist, while Rylan Childs and Sean Lyons rounded out the list of scorers. Dax Creager tallied 15 draw control wins on top of eight ground balls and an assist. A.J. Teague collected a team-best 10 ground balls and added an assist.

POLL WATCH: Milford tied for 10th in the final Cincinnati Enquirer coaches’ poll which encompasses all division. St. Xavier was crowned the poll champion with all 10 first place votes. Moeller, Mariemont, Loveland from the ECC and Mason complete the top-five. Kings from the ECC landed in others receiving votes. COLLEGE BOUND EAGLES: A trio of seniors on the 2018 Eagles’ roster have announced their intention to continue their athletic and academic careers on the collegiate level. Dax Creager has signed a National Letter of Intent at High Point University, while Ryan Hezlep will attend the University of Indianapolis and A.J. Teague is headed to Transylvania University.
