Boys Lacrosse Travels To Kings, Hosts Senior Day

SETTING THE SCENE: With only two weeks of regular season play remaining, the Milford High School boys lacrosse team will be looking to close on a high note and clinch sole possession of second place in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference with two games this week. Armed with a 9-4 overall record and sitting at 3-1 in league action, the Eagles can wrap up runner-up league honors with a win on Wednesday night at Kings. On Saturday afternoon, it’s back home for the Eagles for Senior Day meeting with Wyoming.

THANK YOU SENIORS: Senior Day is scheduled in conjunction with the Eagles’ May 5 home game against Wyoming. That day, the 2018 Senior Class consisting of Liam Acton, Rylan Childs, Dax Creager, Ryan Hezlep, J.T. Homan, A.J. Teague, Gabe Tonucci and Michael Waltz will be honored for their contributions to Milford Boys Lacrosse.

 

A LOOK BACK: April 25 at Loveland: A battle for first place in the ECC went the way of Loveland as Milford’s inter-township rival scored a 16-4 victory over the Eagles. Dax Creager had his usual stats stuffing performance with 14 draw controls and 14 ground balls, but was limited to just one goal. The Eagles’ other goal scorers on the night were Rylan Childs, Cameron Kells and Michael Waltz.

 

April 27 at Lebanon: Milford improved to 9-4 on the season with a 13-6 non-conference road win at Lebanon. As has been the case throughout the 2018 season, senior Dax Creager was all over the place for the Eagles, scoring five goals, along with 16 draw controls and nine ground balls. Carson Geier also had a big night with three goals, a pair of assists and six ground balls. Michael Waltz tacked on a pair of scores, with a trio of assists, while Jordan Winrod found the back of the net twice and Sean Lyons scored once. Gabe Tonucci finished with 13 saves in net.

POLL WATCH: Milford continues to receive votes in the April 30th Cincinnati Enquirer’s weekly area coaches’ poll which encompasses all divisions. St. Xavier holds the number one spot over GCL rival Moeller, with the Bombers earning seven four place votes. Moeller and third place Mariemont each earned two first place votes, with Lakota West and Mason completing the top-five. The ECC is represented by Loveland in sixth, with Kings joining Milford in others receiving votes. The coaches’ poll is released every Monday at Noon at preps.cincinnati.com/coachespolls.

 

COLLEGE BOUND EAGLES: A trio of seniors on the 2018 Eagles’ roster have already announced their intention to continue their athletic and academic careers on the collegiate level. Dax Creager has signed a National Letter of Intent at High Point University, while Ryan Hezlep will attend the University of Indianapolis and A.J. Teague is headed to Transylvania University.
