Boys Tennis to Host Lakota East, Anderson This Week

THE UPCOMING DOCKET:  Milford will host Lakota East and Anderson in the week ahead.  Lakota East, of the Greater Miami Conference, is currently 3-5 overall and sixth in the GMC.   Anderson is 5-2 overall and at 1-1 in the conference sits just above the Eagles in the ECC standings.

Monday, 4/15:             Lakota East High School @ Milford, 4:00 pm

Thursday, 4/18:           Anderson High School @ Milford, 4:00 pm

 

A LOOK BACK:   

April 9 at Loveland: Loveland 5, Milford 0

Milford fell to Loveland, the current leader of the ECC standings.  Michael Faler, playing first singles for the first time this season, fell 0-6, 0-6 to Ruble, while at second singles Stewart Dalziel lost 1-6, 0-6 to Greenberg.  Will Kroeger, down 1-6 after the first set, won the second 6-4 and was close to an upset before falling 7-10 in the third set to Kapszukiewicz at third singles.  Mark Ostrander, paired with Carson Haywood at first doubles, lost to Ditchen/Huether 1-6, 1-6, and Clay Harris/Kasey Shumard fell to Loveland’s Libby/Smith at second doubles 1-6, 2-6.

                                                                   

April 10 at Fairfield: Milford 3, Fairfield 2

The Eagles gutted out a 3-2 victory over Fairfield.  At second singles, Dalziel pulled out a 7-5, 7-5 win over Bowlin.  Ostrander/Haywood won over Robertson/Hicks 6-3, 7-5 at first doubles, while it took three at second doubles for Harris/Shumard to take the win 6-2, 6-7, 10-8 over Shively/Plenz.  After falling behind to Grisham losing 2-6 in the first set at third singles, Wyatt Lindsey fought back with a 7-5 win to even the match but lost the third set 11-13.  Faler also lost at first singles to Heyser 0-6, 0-6.

 

April 11 at Milford:  Turpin 5, Milford 0

The Eagles lost to the Spartans in an ECC contest, though most games were comptetive.  Singles scores:  Ostrander lost to Wantz 3-6, 3-6; Faler fell 0-6, 0-6 to Kissel; Kroeger lost to Dittmann 3-6, 3-6.  In doubles play, Shumard/Harris fell to Reynolds/Rhodes 4-6, 2-6, and Lindsey/Haywood fell 2-6, 2-6 to Chavez/Caruso.

 

INSIDE THE ECC:  Milford sits at 2-5 overall, and 1-2 in the ECC, while Loveland leads the league at 3-0.  Standings are as follows:
