Boys Volleyball Opens 2019 At Home Against Sycamore

Posted on: March 27, 2019

TEAM PREVIEW:  Expectations may be high for the 2019 boys volleyball team, as they follow the 2018 squad’s historic season.  The Eagles advanced last year to the Regional Semi-Finals of the OHSBVA State Tournament for the first time since 2012, and ended the season with a 17-4 record, the most wins in program history. Head Coach Jim Siciliano returns for his sixth season at the helm, and will look to replace eight members of the 2018 team lost to graduation, including the ECC’s co-player of the year, Peter Kroeger.

The 2019 team returns just three varsity veterans in Caleb Cambron, Jake Pearson, and Jacob Wehrman.

Setter Caleb Cambron, a four year letter winner, returns for his final season.  Though the Eastern Cincinnati Conference does not sanction boys volleyball as a league sport, coaches select athletes to receive conference recognition and honored Cambron with All-ECC first team honors in 2017 and 2018.  Cambron will be joined by classmate Jacob Wehrman who signed to play volleyball as well as football at Thomas More, and junior Jake Pearson.

Rounding out the varsity roster: senior Will Turner; juniors Logan Almaraz, Chris Hayes, Garrett Hornsby, Jake Menchofer and Rush Morris; and freshman Jacob Downs.

A LOOK AHEAD:  The Eagles open the year on the home court hosting Sycamore.

Wednesday, March 27:  Sycamore High School @ Milford, 6:45 pm
