Boys Volleyball Opens Week Hosting West Clermont

THE UPCOMING DOCKET:  The Eagles took two of three last week, including a 3-1 victory over ECC rival and #8 ranked Loveland.  In the week ahead, Milford can improve in the ECC “standings” with a victory over West Clermont.  The Eagles will also take on #9 Sycamore, as well as Taylor High School.

Tuesday, April 16:                  West Clermont at Milford, 6:45 pm

Wednesday, April 17:             Milford at Sycamore High School, 6:00 pm

Thursday, April 18:                Taylor High School at Milford, 6:00 pm

  

A LOOK BACK:

April 9 at Loveland:  Milford 3, Loveland 2

Milford defeated ECC rival Loveland, ranked # 8 in the South Region of the OHSBVA, in four sets.  Thought the Eagles took the first set 25-21, the Milford dropped the second set to the Tigers 15-25.  The Eagles held on to take the match with victories of 25-21 and 25-22 in the final two games.

 

April 10 at Milford:  Milford 3, Princeton 0

The Eagles defeated the Vikings in a non-conference contest in straight sets.  Once the Eagles won the first game 31-29, Milford cruised to take the final games from Princeton 25-17 and 25-6.

 

April 12 at Mason:  Mason 3, Milford 0

The Eagles dropped the match 0-3 to Mason: 20-25, 14-25, 15-25.  At the time, Mason was ranked #7 in the OHSBVA South Region. 

  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Taking two of 3 matches last week, Milford improved to 3-3 overall.  Though not an official conference sport, Milford’s record against ECC schools is currently 1-1.    

 

POLL WATCH:  Despite defeating Loveland the previous week, the Eagles did not move up into the top ten again for the week ending 4/14 for the South Region of the OHSBVA poll.  St. Xavier, previously ranked third, moved up to the first position moving Moeller and Elder down to second and third respectively.  LaSalle and Oak Hills held at four and fifth.  Rounding out the top ten are Badin, Fairfield (up to seventh from tenth), Mason, Sycamore and Loveland (down to tenth from eighth).
