Posted on: May 7, 2018

SETTING THE SCENE:  With just two weeks remaining in the regular season, the boys volleyball team is in a position to record one of the best records in the regular season in recent years.  The Eagles defeated Oak Hills for the first time ever, and wins over Loveland and West Clermont extended their win streak to seven matches.  The final four matches will be on the road, and Milford will travel to Princeton and Lakota West in the week ahead.

A LOOK BACK: On Mon., April 30, Milford took on Oak Hills, ranked #7 in the OHSBVA South Region.  Oak Hills had defeated Milford in all prior meetings, and it appeared they might do so again as the Oak Hills took the first game 25-18.  The Eagles fought back to take the next two games, 25-19 and 25-18, but the Highlanders rallied for a 25-22 win to force the fifth.  Each team battled but the Eagles prevailed 17-15, for a final 3-2 victory.

On Tues., May 1 the Eagles traveled to Loveland to take on the Tigers, ranked #4 in the OHSBVA South and sitting just outside the top ten of the OHSBVA state poll.  Milford was looking to even the score after falling to Loveland earlier in the season.  The Eagles took the first game 26-24, but the Tigers came back for a 27-25 win in the second of two spirited games.  Milford left with the 3-1 victory as they defeated Loveland in the final two, 25-17 and 25-18.

Milford closed the week celebrating seniors Brandon Anderson, Luken Dalessandro, Ben Harris, Phillip Hornsby, Peter Kroeger, Beck Nielsen, Kishan Patel, Limo Rustom, Ryan Schroeder and Justin Singleton prior to the home match with West Clermont.  The Eagles dominated on Thurs., May 3, and swept the match in three games of 25-9, 25-13 and 25-11 for their fourth conference victory.
