Cardell Leads Four Girls Lacrosse Players To Earn All-ECC Honors

Posted on: May 30, 2019

Led by Sarah Cardell, the Eastern Cincinnati Conference’s leading scorer this spring, four members of the Milford High School girls lacrosse team have been honored by the league’s coaches with inclusion on the 2019 All-ECC squads. Just a sophomore, Cardell earned first team all-conference honors for the second straight year. She was also tabbed second team all-region by the OSLA.

Joining Cardell among the league’s top players were senior Casey Roeder and junior Emily Stiles, both named to the All-ECC second team. Roeder doubled up her honors by being tabbed honorable mention all-region. Junior Alexis Montalvo was Milford’s honorable mention selection for this year.

Cardell finished her sophomore campaign with 72 goals, giving her 142 scores in two seasons. She tacked on four assists this year and led the Eagles with 45 draw controls.

Roeder, who will play next season at Marietta College, tallied five goals and six assists during her final prep season. She also collected 13 groundballs, won 27 draws and caused 12 turnovers.

Stiles led the ECC with 196 saves from her goalie position. The second team honor for the junior comes on the heels of being tabbed to the top squad one year ago.

Montalvo’s play focused on defense as she gathered 19 groundballs and caused eight turnovers, while controlling 29 draws. She scored one goal and added a pair of assists.
