Competition Cheer Team Earns Bid To 2018-2019 National Championships

Posted on: November 5, 2018

On Sunday, October 28, the Milford High School Competition Cheer Team competed at the UCA Miami Valley Regional Competition and earned bids to Nationals in both divisions of competition.

The Eagles were the runners-up in the Traditional Game Day Championships, as well as the Small Varsity Non-Building Championships at the ultra competitive regional location.  Milford’s squad placed higher than a number of impressive teams who have won the National Championships in recent years.

To qualify for the National Championships, competition cheer teams must also attend a Varsity Spirit camp for 2+ days and participate in the Squad Credentialing program to be eligible to compete and receive a bid at a qualifying tournament.  The Eagles will now vie for the title at the 2018-2019 National High School Cheerleading Championship at the Walt Disney World®  Resort in Orlando, Florida on February 8-10, 2019.

The National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC) is the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country. The NHSCC is held at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida, and nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2 to over 100 million homes and 32 countries nationwide each year. The Championship is also streamed live on Varsity TV on Varsity.com.
