Conference Foe Anderson Up Next for Girls Bowling

THE UPCOMING DOCKET:  Milford’s girls bowling team has the opportunity to improve their standing in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference in the week ahead, as they take on Anderson.  The Redskins (0-6 ECC, 0-6 overall) will be looking for their first conference win. 

Monday, Jan. 7:          Anderson High School at Milford, Cherry Grove Lanes, 3:45 pm

Tuesday, Jan. 8:         Milford at Anderson High School, Cherry Grove Lanes, 3:45 pm

 

A LOOK BACK:

January 3 at Milford; Milford 1940, New Richmond 1565

Both Reagan Hodges and Jessica Norman set new season PRs in the win over New Richmond.  Norman set a new high series of 402 as well as a high game of 243; while Hodges recorded a high series of 392 and high game of 267.  Reaghan Kaylor nearly set a new high game as well, as her 201 in game two was 2 pins shy of a new season’s best.  Fallon Austin posted a two-game series of 279 while Sam Miller (153) and Clarrisa Kester (102) rounded out the Eagles scoring.

January 5 at SWOC/ECC Challenge:  Milford - 2nd place

The Lady Eagles placed second in the SWOC/ECC Challenge with a total of 2249 pins after three individual games and 3450 total pins after baker games. Kaylor (550) led the way for the Eagles and was named to the All-Conference Tournament Team.  Each of the other Eagles competed in three games as well; Norman (486), Hodges (474), Miller (393), and Austin (346). 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: As the winter break comes to a close, the ECC standings remain the same with Loveland and West Clermont at the top, each with a 6-0 record in the ECC. Turpin is 2-2, Walnut Hills 2-4; Milford and Kings follow at 1-3 and Anderson is 0-6.

On the heels of an outstanding performance with New Richmond and at the SWOC/ECC tournament, Milford rose to second in team average (714.3, up from fourth at 697.1) behind only West Clermont at 789.0. Turpin (700.6), Loveland (698.0) and Kings (692.4) round out the top five.

A look at Milford’s individual statistical leaders as of Jan. 6:

Average: Norman (5th – 161.1); Kaylor (6th – 161.0)

High Game: Hodges (1st – 267); Norman (3rd – 243); Kaylor (10th – 202)

Series High: Norman (4th – 402); Hodges (5th – 392); Kaylor (9th – 368)
