Craycraft Ends Milford Career at Regional Meet

Posted on: October 29, 2017

Senior Harris Craycraft’s outstanding cross country career at Milford High School came to an end at the OHSAA Regionals on Sat., Oct. 28 in Troy. On a cold and windy afternoon, Craycraft finished 62nd with a time of 17:09.

Craycraft qualified for the regionals with a twelfth place finish at the OHSAA District Championship on Sat., Oct. 21 at Voice of America Park.  Craycraft’s district time of 16.37.5 essentially equaled his career best of 16:37.3 earlier this year at the East Classic.  It was the first time in four years the Milford’s boys cross country team had a representative competing at the Division I Regional Cross Country Tournament.

The top five teams and those individuals that finished in the top 20 advanced to the state meet.  Mason won the boys team championship and will be joined by Centerville, St. Xavier, Lebanon and the ECC’s Kings at National Trail Raceway on Nov. 4.  Dustin Horter of Lakota East won the individual district championship in 15:02.6; Alex Justus of Kings was the top individual ECC placer (21st, 16:23).

On the girls side, no ECC programs qualified as teams, but Samantha Bush from Turpin, and West Clermont’s Maddie Walker and Morgan Walsh all qualified for the state meet as well.
