A LOOK BACK AT DISTRICT MEET: Though only two athletes qualified to move on, Milford’s track and field teams made an impact at the OHSAA District Meet held at Mason last week.
Andrea Armstrong and Manny Fernandez earned berths to the OHSAA Division I Regional Meet to be held this week in Huber Heights. Armstrong qualified to run the 400 meter dash after a fourth place finish, while Fernandez earned a third place finish in the 110 meter hurdles. Both have postseason experience, as Armstrong competed at Regionals in both 2016 and 2017, while Fernandez made the trip in 2016.
In a meet where the top four of each event qualify, Milford had a number near misses.
Seniors Dillon Coleman and Harris Craycraft closed their MHS careers with new personal bests, and both just missed qualifying in their individual events. Coleman placed fifth in the 400 meter dash with a new PR of 50.72, while Craycraft set a new PR of 4:29.06 in the 1600 meter run.
