Posted on: May 5, 2020

Congratulations to seniors Zach Byron and Braden Pickett as, prior to the cancellation of the spring season, the duo was named Prep Baseball Report’s Preseason All-State honorable mention. Each is coming off of strong junior campaigns last season.

Byron is a two-time first team All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference selection. The lefty posted a 3-3 record last spring with a 3.62 ERA. Over 38.2 innings, Byron struck out a league-best 63 hitters and limited hitters to a .248 batting average. In a three start stretch in April, Byron recorded double digit strikeouts in all three outings, fanning 50 over 18 innings of work. He will continue his athletic and academic career next year at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.

Pickett was a two-way threat for Milford in 2019. At the plate, he batted .303 with eight doubles and seven RBI. On the mound, the senior posted a 2-1 record with a 3.94 ERA in 10 games, including three starts. Over 21.1 innings, the right-hander struck out 26 and limited hitters to a .169 batting average.
