Eagles Announce 2018 Football Schedule

Posted on: June 19, 2018

The Milford High School Football team will face a challenging schedule in 2018 as the Eagles battle for a second straight OHSAA Playoff appearance and Eastern Cincinnati Conference Championship this fall. The Eagles will square off with three squads that made the Ohio playoffs last year and participate in the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown for the third straight year.

2017 was a banner year in the history of the Milford Football program, the first under head coach Tom Grippa. This year’s edition of the Eagles will face all but one opponent it took on last year, with the exception in Week 1 when Milford travels to Princeton for its Showdown contest on Aug. 24. The season-opener starts a stretch of three consecutive road games for the Eagles, who will head into Northern Kentucky in Week 2 (Aug. 31) to take on Dixie Heights before traveling north to Kettering Fairmont a week later (Sept. 7). Fairmont is one of the OHSAA Playoffs qualifiers from last year on the Eagles’ docket.

Week 4 on Sept. 14 features the start to ECC play and marks the Milford home opener for 2018, with Walnut Hills the opponent. The Eagles stay at home the next week taking on Loveland in the annual Battle for the Miami Township Victory Bell.

When Week 6 arrives on Sept. 28, the Eagles will make a return to the scene of arguably the biggest regular season win of the last two decades, the 2017 ECC showdown against Anderson. Like the Eagles, Anderson earned a berth in the OHSAA Playoffs in 2017. Oct. 5 will mark Milford’s 2018 Homecoming Game with Withrow the opponent for a second straight year.

Week 8 on Oct. 12 will see the Eagles back on the road for the first of two straight when they make the journey to Kings. Milford will be out for redemption on Oct. 19 during a Week 9 visit to West Clermont, the first ever trip to the second-year school. The Wolves won a final week showdown over the Eagles last season to stake a claim to a piece of the ECC title and earn a playoff berth.

Milford will close its regular season and honor its seniors with an Oct. 26, Week 10 Senior Night battle against Turpin. All 10 of Milford’s 2018 contests are scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
