Eagles Fly By West Clermont For Senior Night Win

Posted on: October 22, 2021

Tofa Luani scored three touchdowns and Jacob Smith had a huge defensive game as Milford claimed a 28-7 Senior Night victory over rival West Clermont on a cold, rainy night inside Eagle Stadium Powered by Cullen Electric. With the victory, the Eagles conclude the regular season with a 6-4 record and are expected to host an opening round OHSAA Playoff game next Friday night.

The story of the majority of the night was the ground game of both team’s offenses as the Eagles held a 169-161 edge on the ground. Luani had just five carries on the night for 34 yards but scored three touchdowns. Natwan Webster led the Eagles with 72 yards and a score with Sawyer Copp just behind with 68 yards.

Webster got the night’s scoring starting, bolting 29 yards just past the halfway point of the first quarter. Luani got his first score midway through the second, giving Milford a 14-0 edge at the half.

The Wolves took almost eight minutes off the clock to start the third quarter, culminating with their only score of the night. But Luani scored two more touchdowns in the fourth for the final margin.

Smith finished the night with 16 tackles, an interception and a pass break-up. After entering the night with just two interceptions all season, Smith, along Tahj Price, each picked off WC’s Nolan Lucas on the night.

The match-ups for the first weekend of the playoffs will be announced on Sunday.
