Posted on: February 23, 2020

Congratulations to sophomore Kaylie McKenney and seniors Abby Thierauf and Kaitlyn Geis as they were each recently named to the All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference girls basketball teams. Kaylie and Abby earned spots on the league’s second team, while Kaitlyn was Milford’s honorable mention choice.

Kaylie was one the best rebounders in the league in her first full varsity season. During the regular season, she finished fifth in the league with 6.8 rebounds per game, while her 77 offensive boards ranked fourth. She scored a career-high 13 points in a win over Withrow and snagged a career-best 14 boards in the tournament win over Winton Woods. Kaylie reached double figures in rebounds six times and recoded two double-doubles.

Abby was also one of the league’s top defenders during her senior campaign. She easily led the league in blocked shots during the regular season with 45 and also ranked in the top-10 in the ECC with 42 steals. Among the rebounding leaders, Abby ranked 10th with 5.4 per contest, including a high of 12 against Winton Woods. Offensively, she averaged just over five points per game, including a high of 12 vs. Withrow. Also an accomplished volleyball player, Abby also earned honorable mention All-ECC honors on the hardwood as a sophomore.

Kaitlyn’s contributions didn’t always show up in the final stats as she averaged 2.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game, while also playing outstanding defensive each game. Her best scoring game came in the team’s opener when she scored seven points against McNicholas, while her eight rebounds in the tournament against Lakota West were a career-high.
