Eagles Roll Past Little Miami For Big Homecoming Win

Posted on: October 1, 2021

A stout effort by the Milford defense and a balanced offensive attack proved to be the key ingredients for a 31-6 Homecoming victory for the Eagles over Little Miami. A potent Panther offense that entered the night averaging nearly 375 yards of total offense per game was held to 214 by the Eagles. Senior nose guard Nick Klenk had a career game, tallying 12 tackles along with 1.5 sacks.

A pair of short runs by Milford touchdown machine Tofa Luani in the first quarter got the home crowd on their feet for a 14-0 lead after one. Following a Little Miami field goal, Austin Hardin hit Cam Livingston for a 66-yard bomb and all the sudden the Eagles held a 21-3 halftime lead.

Hardin went to the air again in the third quarter, connecting with Reece Davis for a 24-yard score. From there, the two squads traded field goals, leading to the final 31-6. The Eagles’ Max Crawford hit the first field goal of his career in the third with on a 27-yard kick.

Luani led the Eagle ground game, finishing with 86 yards on 14 carries. His pair of scores push his season tally to 14. Hardin connected on 8 of 18 passes for 205 yards. Luke Ray had a game-high 81 yards receiving, while Davis finished with 72.

While the Eagles missed a shutout, they did hold an opponent without a touchdown for the first time since a 37-0 shutout of Walnut Hills in week six of the 2017 season.

Now 4-1 in the ECC and 5-2 overall, the Eagles are poised for a home showdown with Anderson next Friday, owners of an identical 5-2, 4-1 mark.
