Eagles Stymied At Winton Woods

Posted on: September 24, 2021

One week after rushing for over 450 yards in a win over Loveland, the Milford rushing attack was held to just 45 yards as the Eagles dropped a 40-13 decision at Winton Woods. The Eagles had no answer for a stout Warriors’ defense which registered seven sacks of QB Austin Hardin.

Milford found itself on the wrong side of a 16-0 score just past halfway in the second quarter when Hardin connected with Reece Davis for a 15-yard touchdown. The second half featured not one, but two punt return touchdowns by Winton Woods’ Jermaine Mathews, Jr. as the Warriors pulled away. Tofa Luani plowed in from two yards out for the other Milford score of the night. The score gives him 12 TDs for the season, ranking among the top in the ECC.

Natwan Webster ran hard until the end, finishing the night with 45 yards on the ground. Hardin threw for 105 yards, with Luke Ray his favorite targe as he finished with 57 yards on five catches. Nick Scally led the defense with 13 tackles.

The Eagles will look to get back into the win column next Friday night, hosting Little Miami for Homecoming.
