ECC’s Kings, West Clermont Await Boys Tennis

THE UPCOMING DOCKET:  Milford (0-2) will open league play in the week ahead, facing Kings and West Clermont (0-3).  Mid-week the Eagles will host the Aviators of Sycamore (2-0).

Tuesday, 4/2:               Milford @ Kings High School, 4:00 pm - MOVED TO FRIDAY, 4/5

Wednesday, 4/3:          Milford @ Sycamore High School, 4:00 pm

Thursday, 4/4:             West Clermont High School @ Milford, 4:00 pm 

 

A LOOK BACK:     

 

March 27 at Centerville B: Centerville 4, Milford 1

The Eagles fell in the season opener to Centerville B, 1-4.  Mark Ostrander won 6-0, 6-3 over Dhaliwal at first singles.  Michael Faler nearly won at second singles but fell 6-7(3-7), 7-5, 2-6 to Ali.  At third singles, Stewart Dalziel forced three sets with Zhang, losing 6-4, 4-6, 3-6.  Clay Harris/Kasey Shumard fell 1-6, 1-6 to Brown/Duuc at first doubles, while Wyatt Lindsey/Reiland Eubank lost to Kischinchand/Lopez-Vogler 3-6, 5-7 at second doubles.

                                                                   

March 29 at Milford:  Summit Country Day School 4, Milford 1

Three of five battles went to three sets, but the Eagles lost the first home match of the year as Summit Country Day defeated Milford 4-1.  Dalziel led the Eagles with a win over Sumvar at third singles; 4-6, 6-2, 7-5.  Tew of Summit Country Day won over Ostrander 6-7(4-7), 5-7 at first singles, and despite taking the first set Faler lost to Hoeweller 7-5, 2-6, 2-6.  It took three sets for the first doubles match as well, as Harris/Shumard fell 5-7, 2-6, 0-6 to Locke/Battan.  Eubank/Lindsey lost 1-6, 2-6 at second doubles to Barrere/Casanas.

 

INSIDE THE ECC:  With league play yet to begin, all teams are tied for first place in the conference!  Walnut Hills stands at 2-0 overall, Milford is 0-2 and West Clermont opens the year 0-3.
