ECC’s Loveland Up Next for Bowling Squads

THE UPCOMING DOCKET:  The Eagles return to action following an unexpected break after the meetings with Winton Woods were cancelled.  Next up for Milford’s bowling teams: Loveland and a chance for both to gain ground in the ECC standings. 

Though both of Milford’s team averages are higher than Loveland, the boys squad (3-3) sits just behind the Tigers (6-2), while the Loveland girls (7-1) rank one position above Milford, Turpin and Kings, all 3-3.

January 7 at Milford:

BOYS:  Milford 2473, Anderson 2264

Nick Murphy’s 398 series led the Eagles to a conference victory of Anderson.  All five Eagles posted series over 300 as Milford took down Anderson by over 200 pins: Franklin Abt (367), A.J. Kaylor (354), Nathan Hawkins (353), and Nate Fiest (318).

GIRLS:  Milford 2114, Anderson 1844

Behind a new season high 374 series from Reaghan Kaylor, and 335 from Jessica Norman, Milford collected a conference victory over Anderson.  Reagan Hodges (282) and Fallon Austin (268) each added two games, while single games from Clarissa Kester (135) and Sam Miller (131) helped the Eagles to the win.

 

January 8 at Anderson:

BOYS:  Milford 2697, Anderson 2437  

The Eagles continue to improve, and as Milford completed the sweep of Anderson two members set new career personal records.  Abt rolled a new game high of 256 to help set a new personal series high of 476, while Fiest’s 246 in game one was a new single game best as well and contributed to a 404 series.  Kaylor (358) and Murphy (342) each added two games, while Hawkins single game 235 helped the Eagles collect another conference win to move up in the standings.

GIRLS:  Milford 2129, Anderson 1643

The ladies from Milford set a new high team score for the season, and defeated Anderson by nearly 500 pins. Kaylor was the top Eagle with a 369 high series, followed by Miller who set two new career records; a high game of 174 and two-game series of 337.  Rounding out the Eagles with two game series and lifting the Eagles to the high team score: Hodges (305), Norman (298) and Austin (232).

  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

BOYS:  The standings in the ECC remained the same.  West Clermont’s hold on the ECC continues, as the Wolves remained at a perfect 6-0.  Kings improved to 5-1, Loveland improved to 6-2, and Milford’s sweep of Anderson moved the Eagles up in the standings to 3-3. Anderson fell to 2-6, while Turpin (1-5) and Walnut Hills (1-7) both dropped two conference matches as well.

Though West Clermont continues to lead the league in team average (963.9), Milford’s team average improved to 900.1 as they continue to close the gap. Loveland (869.1), Kings (843.1) and Anderson (840.6) make up the top five. 

A look at Milford’s individual statistical leaders in the ECC as of Jan. 21:

Average: Hawkins (1st – 208.3); Murphy (8th – 189.3); Kaylor (10th – 187.6)

High Game: Hawkins (6th – 257); Abt (t-7th – 256); Kaylor (t-7th – 256); Murphy (9th – 247); Fiest (10th – 246)

Series High: Hawkins (1st – 506); Abt (4th – 476); Kaylor (t-6th – 464)

 

GIRLS:  The standings in the ECC remained the same.  West Clermont’s hold on the ECC continues, as the Wolves remained at a perfect 6-0, though Loveland improved to 7-1 after two wins over Turpin.  Turpin, who fell to 3-3, is now tied with both Kings and Milford as the Eagles moved up in the standings with wins over Anderson. Walnut Hills fell to 2-6 and Anderson now sits at 0-8.

Though West Clermont continues to lead the league in team average (777.0), Milford’s team average improved to 721.2 as they continue to close the gap. Turpin (707) and Loveland (704.6) and Kings (701.6) round out the top five.
