ECC Meet ahead for MHS boys track and field team

SETTING THE SCENE: Following a fifth place finish at the Blue Heaven Invitational at Hamilton High School, the Milford boys track and field team will head to the Eastern Cincinnati Conference meet. The ECC meet will be held at Anderson High School; preliminaries will be held on Wed., 5/10 while the finals will take place Fri., 6/12 at 6:30 pm.

  

A LOOK BACK: The Milford boys finished fifth of fifteen teams at the Blue Heaven Invitational at Hamilton High School. Dustin Reynolds placed third in both the 200 meter dash and high jump, while Harris Craycraft placed fourth in the 1600 meter run as well as the 3200 meter run.  Milford athletes placing in the top eight of each event were as follows: 

  • 200 Meter Dash
    • 3rd place, Dustin Reynolds (23.01)

    • 6th place, Dillon Coleman (53.37)
    • 8th place, Dustin Reynolds (53.77)

A LOOK AHEAD:  The Eastern Cincinnati Conference meet has arrived.  The meet will take place at Anderson High School on Wed., 5/10 and Fri., 5/12. 

Wednesday schedule:  All field events will begin at 5:00 pm.  The running events will begin at 6:30 pm, and the 4x800 Meter Relay will be a final.  The remaining events will all be preliminaries, with the top eight in each advancing to Friday's finals.  The events with preliminaries on Wednesday include the 100/110 hurdles, 100 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 300 meter hurdles, and the 200 meter dash.  All other relays will be run as finals on Friday. 

Friday schedule:   Running events will begin at 6:30, including finals and all relays.

 

INSIDE THE ECC:  The following Milford athletes/events fall in the top ten in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference early in the season.

ECC - BOYS:

  • Jonny Burton: 9th 300 meter hurdles; t-8th high jump
  • Dillon Coleman: 7th 400 meter dash
  • Harris Craycraft: 8th 1600 meter run; 5th 3200 meter run
  • Bryce Dugan: 10th shot put; 6th discus
  • Jared Engelman; 10th long jump
  • Manny Fernandez: 1st 110 meter hurdles; 2nd 300 meter hurdles; 5th long jump
  • Dustin Reynolds: 3rd 400 meter dash; 3rd 200 meter dash; t-6th high jump
  • Trip Yersky: 5th discus

Relays:

  • 400 meter – 8th
  • 800 meter – 5th
  • 1600 meter – 4th
  • 3200 meter – 5th
  • 6400 meter – 3rd

  

POLL WATCH:  Mason remained the top team in the Cincinnati Enquirer’s area coaches’ poll for week six.  LaSalle and Sycamore both held at second and third respectively, while the ECC’s Kings moved up to fourth from seventh.  St. Xavier fell to fifth.  Loveland holds at sixth, while Withrow entered the poll again, tied for tenth with Mt. Healthy. Turpin (14) Anderson (12) and Milford (2) all received votes in week six.
