ECC Title On the Line This Week For Girls Bowling
SETTING THE SCENE: As the regular season winds down, the Lady Eagles have an opportunity to clinch the Eastern Cincinnati Conference title. Just two conference matches remain, and only Kings High School stands in the way of another historic season for the Milford girls bowling team. With two wins over Kings the Lady Eagles, who last year shared the conference title with Glen Este, will have the ECC Championship all to themselves, another first for Milford bowling.
A LOOK BACK: Following a week-long break, the Lady Eagles returned to action with the ECC’s Walnut Hills on Jan. 22 at Madison Bowl. The first of two wins over Walnut Hills had Jessica Haines leading the Eagles with a high game of 237 and 408 series and Jessica Norman was consistent with a score of 161 for both games. Reaghan Kaylor (304) and Megan Cannon (277) each bowled in two games, while a 209 from Reagan Hodges helped Milford to a 2150-1854 victory.
The Eagles collected their tenth conference triumph on Thurs., 1/25 by defeating Walnut Hills 2263-1774. Haines once again helped steer Milford with the Eagles’ high series of 392, followed by Norman’s 362 series. Hodges (280) and Kaylor (278) showed consistency for the Eagles and Cannon added a 184 in game two.
INSIDE THE ECC: Milford held at the top of the ECC this week, as two wins over Walnut Hills moved the Eagles to a 10-0 conference record, and 15-0 overall. West Clermont follows at 6-2 and Walnut Hills improved to 4-4. Turpin (4-6), Anderson (3-5), Loveland (2-6) and Kings (1-7) round out the ECC standings. Milford’s team average rose yet again, to 806., while West Clermont’s fell to 767.5.

Megan Cannon: high game (t-10th – 212); series high (8th – 391)
Jessica Haines: overall average (1st – 188.7); high game (1st – 248); series high (1st – 448)
Reagan Hodges: high game (9th – 215)
MacKenzie Mason: overall average (7th – 164.9)
Jessica Norman: overall average (9th – 160.5); high game (3rd – 241); series high (3rd – 431)

POLL WATCH: The Milford girls bowling team moved up a spot in week eleven of the coaches’ poll and is now sixth. Seton held at the top of the most recent poll, with Mercy moving to second and Northwest falling to third while Fairfield and Lebanon are fourth and fifth. Fellow ECC member West Clermont remains at tenth for the second consecutive week. ECC teams receiving votes in week eleven include Turpin (3), Walnut Hills (2) and Anderson (1).
