ECC Tournament Highlights Boys Golf Week Ahead

SETTING THE SCENE: It will be a big week for the Milford High School boys golf team as they battle for its fourth Eastern Cincinnati Conference Championship in the last five year. The 2018 edition of the tournament is set for Thursday at the Glenview Golf Course. The rescheduled Hadley Invitational is also on tap this week, set for Sunday morning back at Glenview.

 

THE UPCOMING DOCKET: A look at Milford’s schedule for the upcoming week:

  • Thursday, Sept. 27 at ECC Championship, Glenview Golf Course, 7:30 a.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 30 at Hadley Invitational, Glenview Golf Course, 9:00 a.m.

 

A LOOK BACK: Sept. 17 vs. Lebanon: The Eagles ran their dual match winning streak to four in a row with a 159-168 win over Lebanon at the Oasis Golf Club. Freshman Adam Horn took medalist honors, shooting a 37. Sophomore Cole Watson was just behind Horn with a 39.

 

Sept. 18 vs. Walnut Hills: Milford celebrated Senior Day at Deer Track Golf Course, but it was the youngest Eagle, freshman Adam Horn, that stole the show. Adam won his second medalist honor in as many days with a 35, finishing four shots better then older brother Justin. Cole Watson added a round of 40.

 

Sept. 20 at Anderson: Milford’s dual match win streak ended at five with a 161-166 loss to Anderson at Legendary Run Golf Course. Senior Justin Horn was the only Eagles to break 40, finishing with a score of 35.

POLL WATCH: The final Cincinnati Enquirer Division I area coaches’ poll has Milford finishing in fifth place. Lakota East was the unanimous poll champion, securing all nine first place votes. Mason, Elder and St. Xavier make up the top-five in front of Milford. Also representing the ECC in the final run down are Anderson in sixth, Turpin eight, Loveland in ninth and Kings among others receiving votes.
