ECC Tournament Highlights Week Ahead For Girls Golf

SETTING THE SCENE: The regular season is winding down for the Milford High School girls golf team as the Eagles have just three regular season matches remaining. The week ahead is highlighted by the 2018 Eastern Cincinnati Conference Tournament, slated for Thursday at Walden Ponds Golf Course. Milford fell to Kings in its only match of last week, but will be busy leading up to Thursday’s ECC event. On Monday, the team will face off with Mercy McAuley for the first time, before hosting Anderson on Tuesday.

 

THE UPCOMING DOCKET: A look at Milford’s schedule for the upcoming week:

  • Monday, Sept. 17 at Mercy McAuley, Fairfield Greens South Trace, 3:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 18 vs. Anderson, Deer Track Golf Course, 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 20 at ECC Championship, Walden Ponds Golf Course, 8:00 a.m.

 

A LOOK BACK: Sept. 10 vs. Wyoming: Too much rain caused the cancellation of the Eagles’ match against Wyoming.

 

Sept. 13 vs. Kings: A match-up with a strong Kings team saw the Eagles fall by a 165-189 score at the Eagles Nest Golf Course. Bre Severns recorded Milford’s lowest round of the day with a  45.

POLL WATCH: Milford continues to receive votes in the weekly Cincinnati Enquirer area coaches’ poll, released on Sept. 17. Mason is the new No. 1 this week with eight of the 11 first place votes. Second place Ursuline took three first place votes with sixth place Kings from the ECC taking the last top nod. The rest of the top-five features Lakota East, Sycamore and Mercy McAuley. SEVERNS WINS ENQUIRER AWARD: Senior Bre Severns, thanks to the support of Eagle Nation, was voted the winner of the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Golfer of the Week Award, announced on Sept. 7.
