Edgewood Invitational Up Next for Eagle Wrestlers

A LOOK BACKDecember 1, Milford at Northwest Duals

The Eagles left the Northwest Duals with a 2-3 record, taking wins over Dixie Heights and Northwest with losses to Princeton, Logan Elm and a narrow five-point loss to Monroe. 

 

KEY PERFORMANCES:

Kobey Bronaugh (138) swept the competition 4-0, including three falls. 

Ray Clayton and Max Ward (combined at 126) finished 4-1 with 4 falls.

Derek Elliott (145), Connor Hawkins (182), Hayden Harvey (285) and Jack Ward (160) each went 3-2 on the day.

At 120, sophomore Bubba Carlisle entered the Varsity Club with his first varsity win, a victory by fall against Monroe.

Final Team Results:

Princeton            21 - 35 L

Monroe               36 - 41 L

Dixie Heights      54 - 27 W

Northwest          42 – 27 W

Logan Elm           21 – 48 L

 

A LOOK AHEAD:  Milford returns to action this weekend at the annual Edgewood Invitational, held at Edgewood High School.  In 2017, the Eagles finished the Invite 15th of 28 teams, and Bronaugh (2nd), Max Ward (3rd), and Mason Roy (6th) took the podium in Milford’s first competition of the season.

Saturday, 12/8:            Milford @ Edgewood Invitational, Edgewood High School, 10:00 am

  

POLL WATCH: Week one of the area coaches’ poll from the Cincinnati Enquirer finds LaSalle surpassed Mason as the top local Division I team (!).  Mason fell to second, while Fairfield, Harrison and Elder remained in the top five.  The ECC’s Loveland held onto ninth, and remains the only ECC team in the top ten.  Milford enters the poll with 2 votes, joined by West Clermont (5) and Withrow (3); find the latest poll at http://preps.cincinnati.com/coachespolls.
