Erin Fentress Named ECC Swimmer of the Year; Cooper, Sauers Also Honored

On the heels of two victories at the Eastern Cincinnati Conference Championships, sophomore Erin Fentress has been named ECC Co-Swimmer of the Year. Erin won both the 50 and 100 freestyle crowns and shared the award with Lebanon’s Katie Fisher. Joining Erin as all-league selections from Milford are Sophie Cooper and Abbey Sauers.

Erin won the 50 freestyle in an ECC Meet record time of 24.18, before moving on to capture the 100 free in 52.98. She also swam the anchor leg on the 200 freestyle relay squad that finished third (1:45.38), joining Molly Craycraft, Sauers and Ashley Johnson. Erin went on to compete in the OHSAA State Championships in the 50 free this year and is now a two-time ECC Champion in the event.

Sophie was one of the top divers in the league all season long, before capturing runner-up honors at the ECC Championship to earn second team honors. She posted a score of 231.80 to take second. Sophie went on to qualify for the OHSAA Southwest District Championship.

Abbey earned top-10 finishes individually in both the 100 freestyle and 200 IM and was a part of two top-fives in relays, the 200 and 400 freestyle.
