Following Anderson Invitational, Girls Track and Field To Host Milford Invitational
SETTING THE SCENE: The MHS girls track and field team finished fifth at the Anderson Invitational, an impressive feat among a field of strong area teams. Next up, the squad will host the annual Milford Invitational followed by a trip to the Loveland Invite.
A LOOK BACK: Milford girls finished Anderson Invitation in fifth place of 20 teams. Once again, the 4x100 relay team of Andrea Armstrong, Lauryn Knarr, Madison Chitwood, Emma Netzel finished at the top of the lineup, and Armstrong placed second in both the 100 and 200 meter dash events.
The Eastern Cincinnati Conference was well represented, as Turpin (1st), Anderson (2nd), Loveland (3rd) and Milford all finished in the top five, with Mt. Notre Dame taking fourth. Milford athletes in the top eight of each event were as follows:

- 1st place, Andrea Armstrong, Lauryn Knarr, Madison Chitwood, Emma Netzel (51.60)

- 5th place, Lauryn Knarr, Jenna Bellonby, Megan Kussman, Emma Netzel (1:52.86)

A LOOK AHEAD: Both the boys and girls track and field teams have two events on the schedule in the upcoming week. The Milford Invitational returns this week to the Bill Marran Track at Milford High School, and the teams will make the short trek to the Loveland Invitational on Friday.

POLL WATCH: The results of week four of the Cincinnati Enquirer’s area coaches’ poll found movement within the top ten. Mason held on as the top ranked team, as did Kings in second. However, the ECC’s Withrow and Turpin moved up to fourth and fifth, and Lakota West fell to fifth and tied with Sycamore. Anderson rose to eighth from tenth, while both Loveland and Walnut Hills entered the poll tied for tenth with Fairfield. Milford received attention, receiving twenty votes this week up from eleven in week three.
