Posted on: February 12, 2017

SETTING THE SCENE:   The Eagles celebrated two remarkable accomplishments last week.  The 2016-2017 girls bowling team finished the season 11-1 in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference, sharing the title with Glen Este.  In addition, Jessica Haines set a new Milford bowling record, a two-game series high 490.

With just one remaining regular season match on tap, Milford will look to head into the postseason on a roll.

A LOOK BACK:  Junior Jessica Haines set a new Milford bowling record in Tuesday’s match with the Reading Blue Devils.  Haines broke the girls two-game series record by a total of 61 pins, shooting a 234 and a 256 for a record series high 490. This total also surpasses the boys record of 484. The new record replaced the previous record of 429 set by teammate Alyna Hook in 2016.

Guided by Haines performance, the Lady Eagles took the match with Reading, 2349-1818.   Mackenzie Mason (333) and Lauren Shelton (319) followed Haines, while Alyna Hook added a single game 176.  Haley Johnson, in just her second Varsity appearance, had a 168 game as well.

A LOOK AHEAD:  The Lady Eagles have just one non-league opponent on tap as the regular season winds down.  The team will then turn their attention to the OHSAA Sectional Tournament, to be held on Feb. 22nd at Crossgate Lanes.
